Friends Of Hawai’i Volcano National Park: Images From The Edge Photography Contest
I rarely enter photo contests, but when I heard about the FHVNP: Images From The Edge Photography Contest I decided to enter. I went over to park on a rainy day, and walked around taking pictures. I submitted three, and one was selected as a finalist. As a finalist, I was able to participate in a show at the Volcano Art Center. Prize winners for the contest were announced at the reception for the Images From The Edge Photography show opening.
I had a photo shoot just before the reception started, and sadly missed the awards ceremony. When I arrived at the reception I slowly walked around the gallery, and made my way over to my photo. I was stunned to see that I had won first prize. I was overwhelmed, and I admit quite shy about the whole thing. I feel very honored to have been part of the event, and to have been selected as the winning image.
